A Small Error In Measurment

  • In cases where it is confirmed that the Bill of Lading (BOL) or OUTTURN will be based on vessel’s figure, loaded or discharged respectively, with Vessel Experience Factor (VEF) applied; the accuracy of calculation of the VEF can have a dramatic effect on the overall performance of the voyage. The discrepancy between a correctly calculated and verified VEF at 0.9991 vs. an incorrect VEF at 0.9999 can be quite significant.
